Margertha Mclean


As Director of Smart Start, Lori oversees all systems and daily operations at the school level.  She ensures the systems developed for Smart Start are being implemented correctly. Lori has a background in childhood education and has worked in the childcare industry in many different roles for 10 years. She loves watching the kids grow from infants all the way to sending them off to kindergarten. Lori is very passionate about building relationships with employees and families she cares for. In her time away from work she enjoys spending time with her husband, baking, and golfing.

As Assistant Director of Smart Start, Jaslynn manages all the billing and payment operations along with welcoming new families and oversees daily operations at the school level. Jaslynn has a background in childcare and has worked in the industry for almost 4 years. She loves watching the children grow and hit all their milestones along with getting to know all the families throughout the center. Jaslynn is a dog mom of 3, loves to travel and spend time with family/friends.

We are always looking for experienced professionals to join our education team!

Stop in to meet management and fill out an application. We're growing and always looking for responsible, reliable teachers with center experience or early childhood development training. We keep applications on file for up to 90 days and we continue to grow and add new staff as needed. Must be 18 years of age, have a minimum of 1 year working with groups of children or in a childcare center setting, excellent references, and pass a local, state, and national background screening. A degree in childcare and/or education helpful but not required.

As Smart Start's owner and operator, Margertha assists overseeing daily operations at the school level. We welcome each family here with open arms and encourage teachers to care for each child individually to fit their needs. Margertha is married and a mother to three children.  In her spare time she enjoys time with family and friends, sports and staying active!
